AGS-40 Balkan

The AGS-40 Balkan is a Russian 40mm caseless automatic grenade launcher developed by KBP as the next-generation replacement for the AGS-17 and AGS-30. It fires a unique 40mm caseless grenade cartridge that provides significantly greater range and lethality than the 30x29mm ammunition used by its predecessors. The weapon uses a gas-operated action and can achieve a maximum range of approximately 2,500 meters, a substantial improvement over previous Russian grenade launchers. The Balkan represents the current state of the art in Russian infantry support weapon design.
