Winchester Model 1895

The Winchester Model 1895 is a lever-action rifle designed by John Moses Browning with a distinctive box magazine instead of the traditional tubular magazine. This allowed it to chamber spitzer-pointed ammunition safely, including military cartridges like .30-06 Springfield. The 1895 was the first Winchester lever-action to use a non-tubular magazine, enabling use of powerful bottlenecked military cartridges.
