SIG Sauer P220

The SIG Sauer P220 is a semi-automatic pistol first produced by SIG Sauer in Switzerland in 1975. It was the first of the legendary P220 series and served as the basis for the later P225, P226, P228, and P229 models. Originally designed for the Swiss military as the SIG P220 (SIG 75), it features a forged aluminum frame, a Browning-style locked-breech action, and a double-action/single-action trigger system. Known for its exceptional accuracy and reliability, the P220 was adopted by military and police forces worldwide and introduced the world to SIG Sauer's now-iconic pistol design philosophy.
