Overview

The Remington Tac-14 is a 12-gauge pump-action firearm based on the Remington 870 action, featuring a 14-inch barrel and a birds-head pistol grip that classifies it as a non-NFA firearm rather than a short-barreled shotgun. This legal classification, achieved by manufacturing the firearm without a shoulder stock and maintaining an overall length above 26 inches, makes it accessible without the federal tax stamp required for traditional short shotguns. The Tac-14 uses the proven twin action bar mechanism and steel receiver of the 870, and is equipped with a Magpul M-LOK forend for accessory attachment. It was Remington's direct response to the Mossberg Shockwave and the growing non-NFA compact shotgun market.
