Remington Nylon 66

The Remington Nylon 66 is a semi-automatic .22 Long Rifle rifle introduced in 1959 by Remington Arms. It was a groundbreaking firearm that used a synthetic stock made from DuPont Zytel nylon instead of traditional wood. The stock carried most of the structural load, allowing a lighter overall weight of about 4 pounds. The Nylon 66 featured a 19.5-inch barrel with a tubular 14-round magazine. Its chemical-resistant, scratch-resistant stock was available in distinctive colors including Mohawk Brown, Seneca Green, and Apache Black. The Nylon 66 was one of the first commercially successful firearms to utilize synthetic materials on a large scale.
