Johnson M1941 Light Machine Gun

The Johnson M1941 Light Machine Gun is a magazine-fed automatic weapon designed by Melvin Johnson and produced during World War II. It shares the same short-recoil operating principle as the Johnson M1941 Rifle but is configured for sustained automatic fire. The LMG fires the .30-06 Springfield cartridge from a 20-round detachable box magazine. It features a quick-change barrel, a bipod, and a rear monopod. The Johnson LMG was lighter than the Browning Automatic Rifle at 13 pounds. It was adopted in limited numbers by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Dutch East Indies Army.
