The Lee-Metford is a British bolt-action rifle that combined James Paris Lee's box magazine and bolt system with William Metford's rifling design. It was the British Army's first repeating rifle using a small-bore (7.7mm) smokeless powder cartridge and the famous Lee bolt-action. The Lee-Metford was the predecessor to the legendary Lee-Enfield.
