Central Research Institute of Precision Engineering (TsNIITochMash)

The SR-1 Vektor is a Russian semi-automatic pistol designed for special forces and law enforcement. It was developed as part of the Rook program but lost the general military contract. The Vektor fires the powerful 9x21mm cartridge developed specifically for this pistol. It uses a gas-delayed blowback operation, an unusual but effective system for controlling recoil. The pistol feeds from an 18-round double-stack magazine with a polymer frame and steel slide construction. Its primary advantage is superior armor penetration compared to standard 9mm Parabellum loads.
