Overview

The Winchester Model 37 is a single-shot, break-action shotgun introduced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1936. It was designed as an affordable utility shotgun for farmers, trappers, and casual shooters. The Model 37 featured a simple top-lever break-open action with an automatic ejector. It was chambered in 12, 16, 20, 28 gauge, and .410 bore. The shotgun had a plain walnut stock and a blued steel barrel. The Model 37 was lightweight, durable, and inexpensive. It became one of Winchester's best-selling shotguns and remained in production for decades. The Model 37 was particularly popular as a first shotgun for young shooters and as a farm tool for pest control.
