Overview
The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is a small J-frame revolver introduced in 1950 as the Chief's Special. It was the first revolver built on Smith & Wessons new J-frame, designed specifically for plainclothes officers and off-duty carry. Chambered in .38 Special with a 5-shot cylinder, it became one of the most popular and long-lived concealed carry revolvers ever produced.
