Ruger Standard

The Ruger Standard is a .22 Long Rifle semi-automatic pistol developed by William B. Ruger and introduced in 1949. Modeled partly after the German Luger and the Japanese Nambu Type 14, it features a distinctive tapered barrel, a fixed-sight design, and a 9-round magazine. The Ruger Standard was the first product of Sturm, Ruger & Company and established the company's reputation for affordable, high-quality firearms. It was the direct predecessor of the Ruger Mark I, Mark II, Mark III, and Mark IV series. The Standard's blowback action and simple takedown set the blueprint for generations of Ruger pistols.
