Overview

The Ruger Old Army is a single-action cap and ball revolver chambered in .45 caliber. It is the only percussion revolver ever manufactured by Sturm, Ruger and Company. The Old Army features a modernized design based on the Ruger Super Blackhawk frame. It uses a convertible cylinder that accepts either round balls or conical bullets. The revolver is built with Ruger's transfer bar safety system, making it safe to carry with all six chambers loaded. It has a 7.5-inch barrel with a rammer lever assembly. The Old Army is known for being one of the most accurate production cap and ball revolvers ever made.
