The PKM is a Soviet-designed 7.62×54mmR general-purpose machine gun. Modernized from the original PK design, it is lighter, more reliable, and widely regarded as one of the best GPMGs ever made. It is the standard squad and vehicle machine gun for Russian and many allied forces.
