M1803 Harper's Ferry Rifle

The M1803 Harper's Ferry Rifle was the first standard issue rifle adopted by the United States military, produced at the Harper's Ferry Armory in Virginia. It was a .54 caliber flintlock rifle featuring a distinctive half-stock design with a brass patch box and iron furniture. This rifle armed elite rifle units and light infantry throughout the early 19th century.
