Overview

The FN 509 Tactical is a striker-fired 9x19mm pistol developed from FN's submission for the U.S. Army's Modular Handgun System competition, featuring a threaded barrel for suppressor use, suppressor-height night sights, and an optics-ready slide with FN's Low-Profile Optics Mounting System. It retains the full ambidextrous controls, cold hammer-forged barrel, and enhanced grip texture of the standard 509 while adding features for tactical and duty applications. The 509 Tactical's 24-round extended magazine and suppressor-ready configuration make it one of the most capable out-of-the-box tactical handguns available. It has been widely adopted by law enforcement tactical teams and is marketed as a duty-ready pistol requiring no aftermarket modifications.
