Overview

The CZ 83 is a compact, blowback-operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP (9mm Browning Short), introduced in 1983 by Česká zbrojovka. It features a 15-round magazine capacity, which is exceptionally high for a .380 ACP pistol. The CZ 83 has a steel frame with a double-action trigger, ambidextrous safety, and a slide-mounted firing pin block. Its ergonomic grip and high capacity made it popular with military and police forces. The CZ 83 was designed as a modernization of the earlier CZ 70 and CZ 50 series.
