CETME Modelo C

The AK-47 (Avtomat Kalashnikova model 1947) is a gas‑operated, selective‑fire assault rifle designed around a simple, rugged construction philosophy that prioritises reliability under adverse conditions over ergonomic refinement. Intended primarily for military service, it has also been adopted by numerous law‑enforcement and paramilitary groups, and civilian semi‑automatic variants are widespread. Its key innovations include a long‑stroke gas piston with a rotating bolt, a chrome‑lined barrel and chamber, and a stamped or milled receiver that can be produced with minimal tooling. The AK‑47’s reputation rests on its legendary durability, ease of maintenance, and ability to function with dirty ammunition, which has made it the archetype of a “battle‑ready” weapon. Distinguishing characteristics are its distinctive curved 30‑round magazine, pronounced recoil spring guide rod, and the iconic wooden or polymer stock with a pistol grip that together create a silhouette recognized worldwide.

The FN FAL (Fusil Automatique Léger, or Light Automatic Rifle) is a gas-operated, selective-fire battle rifle designed by Dieudonné Saive at Fabrique Nationale d'Herstal (FN Herstal) in Belgium. Developed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, it was intended as a robust, reliable infantry service rifle chambered for the then-new 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. The FAL is distinguished by its short-stroke gas piston system with a tilting breechblock, which contributes to its reputation for exceptional reliability under adverse conditions. Its design philosophy emphasized simplicity, ease of maintenance, and adaptability for diverse military roles. The FAL earned the moniker 'the right arm of the Free World' due to its widespread adoption by NATO and allied nations during the Cold War. Notable features include a folding charging handle, a synthetic or wood stock depending on variant, and a 20-round detachable box magazine. The weapon's reputation for accuracy, stopping power, and ruggedness made it a mainstay in conflicts from the Falklands to Vietnam, and it remains in limited service with some military and police forces today.

The Heckler & Koch HK91 is a semi‑automatic, 7.62×51mm NATO battle rifle derived directly from the HK G3 family. Designed in the late 1970s as a civilian‑legal counterpart to the military G3, the HK91 retains the roller‑delayed blow‑back system, cold‑hammer‑forged barrel and robust sheet‑metal receiver that gave the G3 its reputation for reliability under adverse conditions. Its primary purpose is the civilian market, though it has also been adopted by some law‑enforcement agencies for designated‑marksman roles. Distinguishing features include a detachable 20‑round box magazine, a hinged floor‑plate for easy cleaning, and a distinctive wooden or synthetic stock with a pistol grip. The rifle’s modularity allows for quick conversion to full‑auto G3 parts, a factor that has made it both popular among collectors and controversial in jurisdictions with strict conversion laws. The HK91 is praised for its accuracy, durability, and the smoothness of its roller‑delayed action, cementing its status as a benchmark in the battle‑rifle segment.
