Overview

The AR-18 is a gas-operated assault rifle designed by Arthur Miller in 1963 for ArmaLite. Uses a short-stroke gas piston system instead of direct impingement. While never adopted broadly, its gas piston design influenced the SA80, G36, HK416, and many modern piston-driven rifles.
