Swiss Arms AG (formerly SIG Arms)

The SIG SG 553 is a compact assault rifle developed by Swiss Arms AG as a shortened version of the SG 550. It was adopted by the Swiss military as the Sturmgewehr 90 alongside the SG 550. The SG 553 uses the same short-stroke gas piston system as the SG 550 but with a 246mm barrel. It features a folding stock, a bipod integrated into the handguard, and an optical sight mount. The rifle is known for its exceptional accuracy for a compact carbine. It is used by Swiss special forces and military police units.
