The Springfield Armory Echelon is a 9x19mm striker-fired full-size pistol introduced in 2023, featuring a revolutionary Central Operating Group (COG) that allows the serialized fire control unit to be removed and transferred between different grip modules without tools or paperwork. This modular chassis system, similar in concept to the SIG P320, enables users to switch between full-size, compact, and subcompact grip configurations while maintaining the same trigger pull and reliability. The Echelon employs Springfield's Variable Interface System (VIS) for optics mounting with self-locking pins that accommodate over 30 different red dot sights without adapter plates. It represents Springfield's most significant new pistol platform in over two decades and positions the company's Croatian-manufactured products directly against the SIG P320 and Glock 17 Gen5.
