The Brown Bess is the iconic British Land Pattern Musket that served as the standard infantry firearm of the British Empire from 1722 to 1838. A .75 caliber smoothbore flintlock musket, it was used in conflicts ranging from the American Revolutionary War to the Napoleonic Wars.
