The Daewoo DP51 is a double-action, semi-automatic pistol developed by Daewoo Precision Industries of South Korea. It was adopted by the Republic of Korea Armed Forces as the standard service pistol in 1989. The DP51 is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and features a unique fast-action trigger system, which combines elements of single-action and double-action operation. The pistol uses a modified Browning-style locked-breech system with a forged steel slide and aluminum alloy frame. The DP51 was also exported commercially under the name Daewoo K5. It is known for its smooth trigger pull and excellent reliability.
