The SIG Sauer P229 is a compact semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W and 9mm Parabellum, designed and manufactured by SIG Sauer. Introduced in 1992 as an evolution of the P228, the P229 features a stainless steel slide for durability. It is widely adopted by law enforcement including the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Coast Guard.
