The Madsen M-50 is a submachine gun designed by Dansk Industri Syndikat (DISA) of Denmark. It was introduced in 1950 as a successor to the earlier Madsen M-45. The M-50 uses a simple blowback action with a fixed firing pin and a telescoping bolt. The receiver is made from stamped sheet steel welded together. The weapon is chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum and feeds from a 32- or 36-round box magazine. The M-50 features a folding stock and a distinctive perforated barrel shroud. It was designed for military and law enforcement use. The Madsen M-50 is known for its simplicity, reliability, and low cost of production.

The Madsen Light Machine Gun was a Danish automatic weapon chambered in various calibers from 6.5mm to 8x56R. It used a unique combination of short recoil operation and a tilting bolt mechanism. The Madsen was one of the first truly successful light machine guns and had an exceptionally long service life spanning over 70 years.
